Final installation suitability is subject to the existing base and exact product configuration. Open modular tiles are through-draining; roll-out surfaces are not. Apollo NZ does not recommend direct installation of these sports surfaces over natural grass or an unsuitable soft/cushioned substrate.

Project fit

Choose the system around the site — not just the sport.

Tiles for outdoor drainage

Open modular tiles allow water to pass through the playing layer to a correctly graded hard base, making them strong for permanent outdoor public and school courts.

Rolls for continuous feel

Roll-out surfaces provide a continuous textured playing face and can suit portable, semi-permanent and fixed installations where the substrate is smooth, dry and well prepared.

Comfort is selectable

Cushioned PP, soft-connection, TPE and PM-S provide progressively different impact-management pathways. They should be specified around users and sport rather than medical claims.

Base-first design

Tiles cannot rescue a failed slab and roll flooring follows the substrate closely. Cracking, settlement, ponding, contamination and poor levels should be addressed first.

Lifecycle planning

Spare tiles, repair materials, roll maps, storage cores, seam methods, cleaning instructions and maintenance ownership should be planned before handover.

Public + commercial use

Schools, councils, clubs and commercial venues can select different surface pathways around drainage, presentation, portability, player feel and whole-of-life operation.
