The base controls more of the finished court than many surface comparisons admit. Stability, levels, cracks, joints, moisture and drainage should be understood before the final sports flooring is selected.

A court surface follows the quality of the substrate
Modular tile, roll-out sports flooring and bonded indoor systems all rely on an appropriate supporting base. The surface layer should not be used to hide active cracking, movement or a slab that is not suitable for the intended use.
Existing hard courts should be assessed before new flooring is ordered so repairs and local works can be separated from the supplied surface package.

Inspect levels, cracks and joints
High spots, low spots, waves, failed patches, active cracks and movement joints should be identified. The selected local project team can then determine the appropriate repair, grinding, levelling or joint-treatment method for the final system.

Drainage needs a complete path
Open modular tiles may let water pass through the playing layer, but water still needs to travel across the supporting base to a suitable outlet. Continuous surfaces rely more directly on surface falls and perimeter drainage.
Standing water should be treated as a base or site issue rather than assumed to be solved by changing the finish.

Moisture and contamination matter for bonded systems
Old coatings, oil, grease, sealers, adhesive residue, dust and excess moisture can undermine bonded sports flooring. Mechanical preparation, moisture testing, primers or moisture-control systems may be required depending on the selected product and slab condition.

Separate Apollo supply from local civil work
Apollo supplies the selected sports-flooring package and current product information. Slab assessment, civil repair, drainage design, local installation and site-specific compliance remain project responsibilities unless separately arranged outside Apollo's supply role.
