Apollo NZ GlobalStart Project Brief

Apollo Pickleball · Weather protection

Shade and covered pickleball court pathways for hotter, wetter and all-season facilities.

Apollo can coordinate pickleball weather-protection pathways from player-side shade and spectator shelter through to larger covered-court structures and sports air domes. The right solution depends on climate, court count, permanence, wind exposure, planning requirements and how much of the playing area needs protection.

Technical overview

Match the weather-protection level to the facility

A small shade requirement and a fully weather-protected venue are different projects. Apollo keeps those pathways separate so the structure can match the operating need.

01Player-side shade
Rest + waiting areasShade can be concentrated around benches, waiting zones and social areas without covering the playing surface.
02Spectator shelter
Viewing + event comfortUseful for clubs, schools, resorts and tournament facilities where dwell time extends beyond a single game.
03Covered courts
Project-specific structurePermanent or semi-permanent cover requires site, wind, drainage, height and local engineering review.
04Large-span pathway
Sports air domesAir-supported structures provide a dedicated pathway for weather-protected multi-court sports facilities.

Apollo is supply-only. Structural design, foundations, local engineering, permits, installation and services for covered-court structures remain with the relevant manufacturer, local specialists and client-side project team.

Applications + project fit

Weather protection can extend both usability and commercial value.

Hot-climate resorts

Create shaded player and guest areas and review whether larger court cover is justified by heat and sun exposure.

Wet climates

Covered-court pathways can protect programming from rain and improve schedule certainty.

Commercial venues

More predictable playing conditions can support longer operating windows and event programming.

Schools + councils

Select the protection level around community access, budget, site constraints and long-term asset use.
