Apollo NZ GlobalStart Project Brief

DORVARN · Automatic Chain Barrier

A low-profile automatic chain access system for controlled vehicle entries.

The DORVARN Automatic Chain Barrier provides a two-column vehicle-control pathway for sites where a rising/lowering chain better suits the architecture or operating layout than a conventional boom arm.

The current August 2026 reference manual provides enough detail to structure the initial DORVARN chain-control offer while final branding and commercial terms remain supplier-confirmation items.

The system requires two automation columns, civil/foundation coordination, cable provision and careful integration of the chain path with the finished surface.

Project priorities

Use chain control where the entry geometry and visual impact suit it.

01

Surface interface

Plan the chain path, gutter or recess, drainage and finished surface before foundations are poured.

02

Visibility

Make the lowered and raised chain condition clear to drivers, especially at night and in mixed-traffic environments.

03

Safety

Coordinate vehicle detection, warning devices and control logic so the chain does not become a standalone safety device.

How Apollo fits

Treat the chain barrier as a civil + automation package.

The automatic chain barrier controls vehicle access only. It must not be relied on as a standalone safety device, pedestrian barrier or crash-protection system.

01

Set span + column locations

Confirm the exact opening and service clearance at both automation columns.

02

Resolve gutter + drainage

Coordinate the chain path and any recessed ground channel with the civil works.

03

Integrate controls

Add credentials, detection, safety devices and backup-power logic as required.

Market pathways

Move between regions without losing the project context.

Choose the regional hub first, then the country where a dedicated pathway exists. Product suitability, documentation, freight and local project responsibilities are still confirmed against the actual site.
