MONTARA is organised around two distinct expandable modular-building and home pathways for international projects. FLEX covers transport-efficient 20FT, 30FT and 40FT formats for housing, accommodation, workspaces and multi-use project buildings. RESIDENCE is the higher-performance pathway for more permanent residential, resort and development applications where envelope performance, comfort and documented engineering carry greater weight. MONTARA is not currently offered in New Zealand.

The FLEX figures below reflect the current reference platform for Apollo's mainstream expandable range. RESIDENCE uses current technical drawings and catalogue information as its planning basis while final engineering, warranty and certification documentation is completed. Exact dimensions, structure, finishes, services, engineering and certificates are reconfirmed for the selected configuration and destination before quotation.
01MONTARA FLEX 20
Approx. 37 m²Current transport reference approx. 5850 × 2250 mm folded footprint, with published 2530 mm and 2900 mm external-height pathways. Intended as the compact mainstream MONTARA format.
02MONTARA FLEX 30
Approx. 56 m²Current transport reference approx. 9000 × 2250 mm folded footprint, with published 2530 mm and 2900 mm external-height pathways. Suits larger family, staff, tourism and multi-room project briefs.
03MONTARA FLEX 40
Approx. 74 m²Current transport reference approx. 11800 × 2250 mm folded footprint, with published 2530 mm and 2900 mm external-height pathways. The largest standard FLEX planning envelope.

Transport-efficient expandable housingFLEX is the core MONTARA pathway for repeatable 20FT, 30FT and 40FT projects where transport efficiency, adaptable layouts and faster deployment are priorities.
05RESIDENCE Compact reference
Approx. 26.1–27.6 m²Current Mini references show 26.1 m² L20 and 27.6 m² H20 gross floor areas, with approximately 24.1–25.8 m² net internal area and 2350–2500 mm internal ceiling-height pathways.
06RESIDENCE Family reference
Approx. 39.9–42.3 m²Current Classic references cover L20, H20 and H30 pathways. Supplied Classic A/B layouts show two bedrooms, one living room, one kitchen and one bathroom.
07RESIDENCE Large reference
Approx. 66–84.6 m² pathwaysFor three-bedroom / larger residential use, the current planning options are either the combined two-module pathway or the larger Mix platform. Mix references show 80.06 m² L20 and 84.6 m² H20 configurations.
08RESIDENCE H30 construction
120 mm wall + roof · R30The current H30 Classic reference uses approximately 120 mm exterior wall and roof build-up with an R30 catalogue value and approximately 2500 mm internal ceiling height.
09RESIDENCE L20 / H20 construction
85 mm wall · 90 mm roof · R20Current L20 and H20 references use approximately 85 mm exterior walls, 90 mm roof construction and an R20 catalogue value. Final exact assembly remains model-specific.
10RESIDENCE structural reference
Q355 hot-dip-galvanised frameThe supplied Mix drawing specifies Q355 hot-dip-galvanised framing with a stated galvanising amount of 275 g/m², high-weather-resistant coated exterior steel panels, SPC interior finishes and high-pressure PU foam insulation.
11RESIDENCE current performance references
≥45 dB · 1 h fire · 1.5 kN/m² snowCurrent supplied drawings reference sound insulation ≥45 dB, one-hour fire resistance, 1.5 kN/m² snow load, 2.0 kN/m² general floor load and 2.5 kN/m² bathroom floor load. These remain exact-model and engineering-package references, not blanket compliance claims.

Approx. 66 m² planning referenceThe supplied joined-module configuration combines the current 39.9 m² two-bedroom platform with the 26.1 m² compact platform. This joined pathway is one of the three-bedroom / larger residential options; exact combined production specification remains subject to final project drawings.

Project-selected, not fixedBedroom count, kitchen and bathroom arrangement, storage, glazing, exterior treatment and service positions are selected from confirmed production layouts or developed within the structural and services limits of the chosen platform.

MONTARA is an international supply range and is not currently offered in New Zealand. Published dimensions and performance figures are planning references for current platform configurations. Final dimensions, materials, loads, thermal values, wind/seismic performance, certificates, warranty and included equipment are confirmed against the exact quotation, approved manufacturing drawings and destination-specific engineering before supply.

MONTARA does not rely on a generic catalogue specification. These items are checked and recorded for the selected FLEX or RESIDENCE configuration before the project moves into manufacture.
Where a performance figure, certificate or warranty is configuration-specific, the exact supporting document takes priority over generic website wording.
MONTARA RESIDENCE
A separate higher-performance platform rather than a dressed-up version of the standard expandable house.
RESIDENCE is now being developed from documented Mini, Classic and Mix platform references, including R20 and R30 construction pathways, Q355 galvanised framing, PU-insulated assemblies and more residentially focused layouts. Apollo supplies on a project-specific basis, with local engineering and installation arranged separately.

FLEX for the mainstream expandable range
Use FLEX where the project needs a transport-efficient 20FT, 30FT or 40FT expandable building with adaptable internal planning and a straightforward deployment pathway.
RESIDENCE for higher-performance housing
Use RESIDENCE where permanent residential comfort, thermal performance, glazing, documented structure and a more architectural finish matter more than simply reaching the lowest unit cost.
No generic compliance assumptions
A certificate, wind figure or material description only applies where it is supported for the exact configuration. The final project pack controls the claim used for the destination.
Layouts follow structure + services
Bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, laundries and storage can be configured only within the structural, folding, drainage and services logic of the selected platform.
Coastal + island projects need a separate review
Salt, humidity, UV, heavy rain and high wind increase the importance of coatings, drainage, seals, fixings, anchoring and maintenance planning.
Delivery geometry matters
FLEX keeps transport width compact, but 30FT and 40FT models still need early review of road access, gates, turning space, bridge limits, crane position and final building orientation.
Wet areas drive factory coordination
Kitchen, bathroom and laundry positions affect plumbing, electrical work, ventilation and final local connections. Freeze these areas before manufacturing drawings are approved.
Remote + off-grid pathways
Solar, batteries, water storage, rainwater, wastewater, communications and maintenance access can be coordinated around the selected building, subject to the project brief and local requirements.
Foundations remain site-specific
Support points, anchoring, uplift, drainage and ground conditions need to be resolved for the actual site rather than copied from a generic foundation diagram.
Supply-only international model
Apollo supplies the agreed MONTARA building package and supporting project documentation. Local installation, services and approvals remain clearly separated unless specifically quoted.
