Apollo NZ GlobalStart Project Brief

Buildings & Large Structures · Developer Carport Systems

Fixed solid-roof carports designed around developments, not retail kits.

Apollo reviews architectural carport systems for housing, apartment, hospitality, commercial and institutional projects where repeatable parking modules, integrated drainage, clean structure, engineering documentation and staged project supply matter. The programme is fixed solid-roof only.

Quick project answers

A developer carport should be treated as site infrastructure, not a catalogue shelter.

01

Do you supply polycarbonate carports?

No. This developer pathway is intentionally limited to fixed, fully opaque solid-roof systems. Polycarbonate, acrylic, PVC membrane and fabric roofs are outside the programme.

02

What configurations can be reviewed?

The starting platform covers single, double, repeatable multi-bay, cantilever / offset-post and continuous commercial parking layouts. Final dimensions and column positions are project-specific.

03

Is the structure aluminium or steel?

Both pathways can be reviewed. Architectural aluminium is suited to premium and highly visible development settings, while structural steel can suit larger multi-bay and commercial parking programmes. The selected route must be supported by the project engineering and manufacturing evidence.

04

Can EV charging and lighting be incorporated?

The carport can be planned with LED-ready cable routes and EV-charging provision. Charger selection, electrical design, protection, connection and destination compliance remain separate project-specific requirements.

05

Are spans and wind ratings standard?

No generic span or wind claim is used as a substitute for engineering. Geometry, design criteria, exposure, loads, anchors and foundations are confirmed against the actual project and selected manufacturing system.

DEVELOPMENT CONFIGURATIONS

Five starting configurations, one project-led platform.

The dimensions below are briefing modules rather than fixed engineering claims. Final geometry is developed against the site, vehicle layout, loads, drainage and destination requirements.
C1

Single

Approx. 3 × 6 m starting module

Individual dwellings, townhouses and small commercial sites

C2

Double

Approx. 6 × 6 m starting module

Duplex, premium residential and shared two-car parking

C3

Multi-Bay

Repeatable parking-bay grid

Townhouse, apartment, retirement and staged developments

C4

Cantilever

Offset / reduced-column layout

Premium sites where clear vehicle access and sightlines matter

C5

Commercial

Continuous multi-vehicle system

Apartments, workplaces, resorts, institutions and commercial parking

TWO STRUCTURAL ROUTES

Choose the architecture around the development, then prove the structure.

Architectural aluminium

A lighter, cleaner route for premium residential, resort and highly visible development settings.

  • Solid insulated-panel roof pathway
  • Clean finished underside / soffit priority
  • Integrated drainage and concealed service routes
  • Strong fit for repeated single and double bays

Structural steel

A higher-capacity route for larger spans, continuous parking and multi-bay development programmes.

  • Solid concealed-fix, standing-seam or insulated roof pathway
  • Multi-bay structural grids
  • Reduced-column and cantilever engineering potential
  • Strong fit for apartment, commercial and institutional parking

BASE SPECIFICATION

The system is specified as development infrastructure, not a retail shelter.

SUPPLY BOUNDARY

Carport package in. Local construction responsibilities stay explicit.

Apollo is supply-only. The final quotation defines the supplied structure, roof, drainage components, agreed lighting / EV provisions, drawings, packing and available engineering documentation. Foundations, civil drainage, electrical design and connection, erection, local engineering review, permits and statutory approvals remain with the appointed project parties unless expressly included in the written supply scope.

Project pathways

Connect the parking structure to the wider development package.

Project priorities

The right carport is resolved from parking geometry, environment and project interfaces.

01

Parking geometry

Bay width, depth, circulation, accessible spaces, vehicle classes, sightlines and column positions need to work before the structural grid is frozen.

02

Solid roof architecture

Roof build-up, visible pitch, fascia depth, soffit finish and fixing strategy should support the development architecture rather than read as a temporary shelter.

03

Structure + loads

Wind, snow, seismic demand, cantilever geometry, clear spans and any attached equipment must be included in the engineering brief.

04

Drainage

Roof catchment, gutter capacity, downpipe positions, overflow strategy and connection to site drainage must be coordinated early.

05

Exposure + durability

Coastal salt, industrial exposure, UV, rainfall and maintenance access affect coating, fasteners, isolation and material selection.

06

Lighting + EV

Allow cable routes, mounting zones and electrical coordination before fabrication so lighting and charging do not become improvised site additions.

07

Repeatability

Developments benefit from a controlled family of single, double and multi-bay modules with common finishes and documented project-specific exceptions.

08

Freight + erection

Member lengths, pack sizes, container loading, unloading, storage and erection sequence should be resolved before the project release is frozen.

How Apollo fits

One parking brief becomes a controlled structural and supply package.

Apollo is supply-only. Final structural design, foundations, drainage connections, electrical works, erection, local engineering review, statutory approvals and compliance remain project- and destination-specific.

01

Define the development brief

Provide destination, vehicle count, parking layout, indicative bay dimensions, drawings, preferred appearance, exposure and known design criteria.

02

Select the structural route

Apollo reviews whether the project is better suited to an architectural aluminium or structural steel pathway, including cantilever and multi-bay requirements.

03

Confirm technical evidence

Material grades, sections, roof build-up, drainage, coatings, structural calculations, anchors, reactions and available CAD/BIM information are matched to the proposed system.

04

Coordinate project interfaces

Lighting, EV provision, civil drainage, foundations, access and local engineering responsibilities are identified before commercial scope is frozen.

05

Freeze the supply package

Final configuration, finishes, documentation, packing, quantities, stage releases and freight basis are recorded in the project offer.
