Permanent deployable protection

Roll-down hurricane shutters for windows, doors and larger openings.

Permanent aluminium shutter systems that remain at the opening and deploy vertically when severe weather approaches. Manual and motorised pathways can be selected around opening size, building use and project requirements.

01Project guidance

Protection that becomes part of the building.

The shutter curtain retracts into a housing above the opening during normal use and travels through side guides when protection is required. This avoids storing loose storm panels and can simplify preparation across buildings with many openings.

02Project guidance

Strong applications range from homes to hospitality.

Roll-down systems can suit windows, sliding and patio openings, selected balconies, hotel and resort rooms, shopfronts and commercial openings where vertical deployment works with the architecture.

03Project guidance

Motorisation changes the operational strategy.

Motorised operation can significantly reduce storm-preparation time on larger buildings. Power supply, control locations, motor access and emergency/manual operation where supported should be planned during design rather than added later.

04Project guidance

The guides and fixings are part of the hurricane system.

Performance is determined by the complete assembly: curtain profile, side guides, bottom rail, head support, operating system, anchors and structural substrate. Larger openings require their own pressure and support review.

Technical claim control

Performance follows the exact system and project.

Opening size, positive and negative design pressures, impact requirements, tracks or frames, anchors and structural substrate all affect final performance. Apollo ties numerical wind, impact and certification claims to the applicable tested or engineered configuration rather than applying one blanket rating to an entire product family.
