Structural storm resilience

Roof-to-wall connections, gable strengthening and continuous-load-path retrofit systems.

Protecting windows does not solve a weak roof connection. Apollo's structural-resilience pathway covers selected connectors, straps, structural screws and strengthening systems that help project teams improve the transfer of severe-wind loads from roof to walls and foundation.

What project teams need to know about Roof Strengthening & Load Path.

Use this page for early system selection; final performance follows the exact tested, listed or engineered configuration and the actual project.
01

What is Roof Strengthening & Load Path?

Protecting windows does not solve a weak roof connection. Apollo's structural-resilience pathway covers selected connectors, straps, structural screws and strengthening systems that help project teams improve the transfer of severe-wind loads from roof to walls and foundation.

02

What project information should Apollo receive first?

Send the project location, building type, drawings or clear photographs, relevant dimensions and structural information, and any known wind, design-pressure, impact, flood, shelter, access or local-code requirements that apply to this system.

03

Can this system be specified from website information alone?

No. Site hazard, dimensions, loads, support and anchorage, exact product configuration, installation method, applicable technical evidence and local approvals can all change the final specification.

04

Does Apollo install this protection system?

Apollo is supply-only. Final engineering, fixings, installation, approvals and local code compliance remain with the appropriate manufacturer, approved specialist or client-side project team unless expressly included in the written scope.

05

Can Apollo review this system for international projects?

Yes, where the product and project can be supported. Destination hazard, climate, freight, documentation, local engineering, certification and installation responsibilities are reviewed before supply.

01Project guidance

The roof connection can be a critical weak link.

High wind creates uplift and lateral forces that must travel through the roof structure, wall system and foundation. Roof-to-wall ties, straps, clips and structural fasteners are selected around the actual framing rather than treated as universal accessories.

02Project guidance

Existing buildings need investigation before a retrofit kit is selected.

Roof form, truss or rafter geometry, top plates, wall construction, corrosion, access and existing connectors can all affect what strengthening work is feasible. Concealed conditions can change the final detail.

03Project guidance

Gable ends and roof deck attachment belong in the same conversation.

A connection upgrade should not imply that every other part of the roof is adequate. Gable bracing, roof sheathing/deck attachment, edge zones and roof-cover performance may require separate review.

04Project guidance

Local structural engineering remains the design authority.

Apollo can source documented connector and retrofit systems, but final load paths, fastener schedules, member capacities, corrosion exposure and code compliance remain tied to the project structure and jurisdiction.

Project-specific performance

Performance follows the exact system and project.

Opening size, positive and negative design pressures, impact requirements, tracks or frames, anchors and structural substrate all affect final performance. Numerical wind, impact and certification information is matched to the applicable tested or engineered configuration for the project.
