Solar-array storm resilience

High-wind and hurricane-region solar mounting pathways for severe-weather roofs.

Solar modules add a large wind-loaded system to the roof. Apollo's storm-resilience pathway focuses on documented mounting and attachment systems, roof-zone loads, waterproofing interfaces and project-specific engineering rather than applying a universal hurricane label to an array.

What project teams need to know about High-Wind Solar Mounting.

Use this page for early system selection; final performance follows the exact tested, listed or engineered configuration and the actual project.
01

What is High-Wind Solar Mounting?

Solar modules add a large wind-loaded system to the roof. Apollo's storm-resilience pathway focuses on documented mounting and attachment systems, roof-zone loads, waterproofing interfaces and project-specific engineering rather than applying a universal hurricane label to an array.

02

What project information should Apollo receive first?

Send the project location, building type, drawings or clear photographs, relevant dimensions and structural information, and any known wind, design-pressure, impact, flood, shelter, access or local-code requirements that apply to this system.

03

Can this system be specified from website information alone?

No. Site hazard, dimensions, loads, support and anchorage, exact product configuration, installation method, applicable technical evidence and local approvals can all change the final specification.

04

Does Apollo install this protection system?

Apollo is supply-only. Final engineering, fixings, installation, approvals and local code compliance remain with the appropriate manufacturer, approved specialist or client-side project team unless expressly included in the written scope.

05

Can Apollo review this system for international projects?

Yes, where the product and project can be supported. Destination hazard, climate, freight, documentation, local engineering, certification and installation responsibilities are reviewed before supply.

01Project guidance

The array is part of the roof wind-load problem.

Module dimensions, array edges, roof zones, building height, terrain and attachment spacing all influence uplift. The approved mounting configuration and structural substrate must match the project design.

02Project guidance

A strong rail does not solve a weak roof.

Attachments transfer loads into the roof structure. Roof deck, trusses or rafters and the wider load path need to be capable of accepting those loads.

03Project guidance

Waterproofing and corrosion remain critical.

Flashing, sealants, roof penetrations, compatible metals and coastal exposure need to be resolved alongside the structural design so storm resilience does not create long-term leakage or corrosion problems.

04Project guidance

Electrical-system resilience sits beside mounting resilience.

Apollo's current pathway is focused on the physical mounting and severe-wind interface. Electrical design, shutdown, storage, inverter and grid requirements remain separate project scopes unless expressly included.

Project-specific performance

Performance follows the exact system and project.

Opening size, positive and negative design pressures, impact requirements, tracks or frames, anchors and structural substrate all affect final performance. Numerical wind, impact and certification information is matched to the applicable tested or engineered configuration for the project.
