HLJÓÐ · Sports venue sightline planning
Choose the screen position before the structure chooses it for you.
Test spectator distance, seating geometry, obstructions, off-axis zones and camera lines while the screen can still move. Then carry the chosen geometry into the technical LED brief.
Venue plan logic
Map the viewing problem in plan and section.
The planner uses simple geometry only. It does not model a full seating bowl or replace a specialist sightline study, but it makes the key unknowns visible early enough to change the screen location.
Project inputs
Describe the actual spectator geometry.
Use representative near, typical and far viewing positions. If you have venue sections or seating drawings, use dimensions from those rather than estimates.
Simple geometry checks
See how the screen presents from three distances.
Apparent angles are calculated as if the viewer is centred and looking square-on at the screen. Off-axis perspective, seating rake, heads, rails, roofs and structures are not modelled.

The nearest entered viewer becomes the starting viewing-distance input for the technical LED brief. Pixel pitch is reviewed there against the selected display platform; this sightline tool does not invent a universal minimum viewing distance.
Sightline review
Coordination actions identified
- Venue drawing basis is limited: a reliable obstruction / sightline review needs at least a site plan and representative seating / level information.
Venue handoff
Carry the geometry into technical screen selection.
Use this brief with the site plan, seating sections and camera plan. Once the screen location is stable, move into the LED technical brief for cabinet grid, pixel pitch, resolution, power, support and freight.
HLJÓÐ SPORTS VENUE SIGHTLINE + SCREEN LOCATION BRIEF HEAD-ON GEOMETRY CHECKS COORDINATION FLAGS - Venue drawing basis is limited: a reliable obstruction / sightline review needs at least a site plan and representative seating / level information. Geometry values are simple head-on planning calculations only. They do not prove sightline compliance, seat coverage, legibility, pixel-pitch suitability or camera clearance. Final review requires the actual venue geometry and project criteria.
