HLJÓÐ · Smart LED Project Brief
Start with the viewing conditions.
Build a useful display brief before anyone chooses a pixel pitch or cabinet. Your answers carry into the Apollo project enquiry so the final system can be reviewed manually.
Project inputs
Enough information to choose the right pathway.
You do not need a finished AV specification. Approximate size, viewing distance, environment and intended use are enough to start.
Pixel-pitch / viewing-distance guide
See where the available pitch families begin to make sense.
This is an indicative planning aid, not a manufacturer performance rating. Move the closest-view slider and use the result as a shortlist for technical review. Content, screen size, camera use, daylight and budget can shift the final selection.
Select an environment above to distinguish indoor fine-pitch from outdoor-capable starting ranges.
Native resolution planner
Turn physical size and pitch into an approximate pixel canvas.
Enter the screen width and height above, then select a planning pitch. The calculator shows the approximate native pixel grid before cabinet and module rounding. It also checks whether the proposed physical shape is close to 16:9 or is better treated as a custom canvas.
For example, enter 8 and 4.5 (metres). The calculator will then show approximate native resolution and 16:9 geometry options.
Planning output only. Final screen resolution is determined by the selected cabinet/module matrix, exact physical dimensions, processor architecture and manufacturer-approved configuration. Apollo confirms the buildable pixel grid before quotation.
Cabinet grid planner
Convert the desired size into a buildable cabinet matrix.
Select the display platform and the planner rounds the requested width and height to the nearest cabinet grid. It then shows the resulting physical size, cabinet count and approximate native resolution using the nearest supported pitch for that platform.
The cabinet planner will then calculate the nearest whole-cabinet matrix and show whether the requested physical size needs adjustment.
Configuration aid only. The visual grid does not show module subdivisions, receiving-card zones, power loading, structural steel, service corridors or spare cabinets. Final cabinet orientation, module matrix, processor capacity and engineering are confirmed for the selected product before quotation.
Power + processor planning
Turn the screen matrix into a useful infrastructure brief.
The screen's exact pixel load is calculated from the cabinet matrix. Electrical load is shown only where the approved source material gives a model-family power density; we do not substitute generic wattage figures for products that still need a supplier electrical schedule.
Processor planning will appear once numeric dimensions produce a cabinet grid.
The approved source set currently gives explicit ≤550 W/m² maximum and ≤186 W/m² average figures for the Outdoor Aluminium platform. Other selected platforms remain blank until their exact power table is verified rather than using generic assumptions.
Not an electrical design. Final circuits, phase distribution, protective devices, cable sizing, power factor, inrush, derating, earthing, generator/UPS requirements and local compliance must be designed from the final manufacturer electrical schedule by the responsible electrical professional.
Structural + installation planning
Give the local engineer a useful starting brief.
The planner carries forward source-backed cabinet weight and service-access information where available, then flags the mounting, wind and access questions that still need project engineering. It does not calculate steel, anchors, foundations or rigging capacity.
Structural planning appears once dimensions create a cabinet grid.
Choose the mounting / support option in the project inputs so the required engineering checks can be scoped.
- Final LED cabinet self-mass and proposed support / secondary steel mass
- Primary load path, attachment points and allowable reactions
- Deflection and alignment criteria for the finished LED plane
- Access strategy for installation, module replacement and power / data service
- Cable routes, processor / power locations and protected penetrations
Cabinet mass excludes support steel, brackets, truss, motors / hoists, ballast, foundations, cable, processors, distribution equipment and other project hardware. Final structural and rigging design must use the confirmed manufacturer drawings, project site criteria and the responsible local engineer.
Freight + delivery planning
Plan the receiving job without inventing packing data.
The current technical source set supports cabinet quantities and cabinet mass, but it does not give a complete verified export packing schedule with case or pallet capacities, packed dimensions, gross weights and CBM. The planner therefore calculates only what the source supports and turns the missing freight data into a clear supplier requirement.
Freight planning begins with the whole-cabinet quantity and source-backed cabinet mass.
- Final packing list showing every case / pallet, dimensions, net weight and gross weight.
- Confirmed total CBM plus the largest and heaviest single packed unit.
- Separate identification of LED cabinets, spare kit, processors, receiver cards, power supplies, cabling and installation hardware.
- Unload method matched to site access: loading dock, forklift, tail-lift, crane / HIAB or restricted route.
- Dry, secure receiving / storage area and a protected route from delivery point to installation position.
- Arrival inspection procedure: photograph packaging, record visible damage and reconcile quantities against the packing list before installation.
No freight price is calculated here. Packed mass and volume cannot be derived reliably from cabinet mass alone. Apollo uses the final supplier packing schedule, destination, transport mode and receiving constraints to prepare the delivery component of the project quotation.
Project specification summary
One clean handoff from concept to technical review.
This summary consolidates the current planning decisions and separates them from the evidence that still has to be closed before quotation. It is the customer-facing project snapshot and the internal Apollo handoff in one place.
- Final manufacturer model / BOM and exact pixel-pitch confirmation
- Model-specific certificates and destination compliance review
- Final processor / controller, output segmentation and receiver-card map
- Final support / rigging drawings and responsible local engineering
- Final export packing schedule: cases / pallets, gross weight, CBM and largest package
- Model-specific electrical schedule for Indoor SMD
Geometry
Screen dimensions and viewing distance guide native resolution and sensible pixel-pitch options.
Environment
Daylight, weather, poolside and coastal exposure determine brightness, protection and evidence requirements.
Camera
Camera use changes refresh, scan, processor and redundancy priorities. Broadcast suitability is confirmed per configuration.
