HLJÓÐ · Broadcast + replay production architecture

Build the programme feed before it reaches the screen.

Coordinate cameras, replay, graphics, scoring feeds, switcher, signal transport, control room and redundancy as one production chain—then define the handoff into the HLJÓÐ screen processor.

HLJÓÐ is the display endpointReplay is a production functionScoring data and rendered score graphics are separate pathwaysBroadcast timing and transport remain system-specific

Production chain

Five layers from camera to spectator screen.

The venue can be simple or complex, but the chain should stay legible. A club livestream may collapse several layers into one compact system; a stadium broadcast may split them across multiple operators and technical rooms.

01Camera / source layer

Live cameras, replay sources, scoring / timing source, graphics engine, sponsor media and pre-produced content.

→
02Production layer

Vision mixer / switcher, replay operator, graphics operator and production control make the programme feed.

→
03Transport + routing

SDI, fibre, IP or mixed transport carries programme, clean / dirty, backup and return feeds.

→
04HLJÓÐ processor layer

Screen processor receives the approved programme feed, maps the LED canvas and hands signal to the receiving-card architecture.

→
05Display outputs

Main screen, secondary screens, fan zone, concourse, clubhouse or other project-approved display destinations.

Production brief

Define who creates the feed, who routes it and who owns failover.

Unknowns should stay visible. A screen processor cannot compensate for an undefined replay workflow, undocumented scoring interface or missing production handoff.

Production review

No high-priority production risk selected yet

These are integration prompts, not broadcast-system certification.

  • No high-priority production risk has been selected yet. Final signal format, timing, routing, processor mapping and operating workflow still require project review.

Before technical release

Close the production interfaces.

The final LED processor input only makes sense once the upstream production chain is defined. These are the items that need to be closed before a venue treats the screen as match-ready.

Production handoff

One brief for AV, broadcast, scoring and screen teams.

Use the summary in technical meetings, then attach equipment schedules, routing diagrams and system documentation as the project matures.

This architecture is a project-planning framework. It does not select cameras, replay servers, graphics engines, switchers, codecs, network protocols or broadcast standards automatically. Final compatibility and timing are system-specific.
