Roll-down, accordion, Bahama, Colonial and fabric systems need to be closed or installed before the storm. Permanently attached shutters can make that process much faster than loose panels.
Where the impact window satisfies the applicable project requirements, the protection remains present without a separate deployment step. This can be valuable for vacant properties, upper levels, hotels and apartments.
If good windows and doors are staying in place, external shutters can add protection without replacing every opening. Large sliders and balconies can also be strong shutter applications.
Impact windows can form the foundation of a new façade while accordion or roll-down systems protect unusually wide openings and a dedicated system protects the garage.
