INTERNATIONAL RESORTS / SCENARIO 08

ILLUSTRATIVE PROJECT SCENARIO — NOT A BUILT PROJECT

Boutique hotel: restaurant terrace expansion

Matching overhead cover and side protection without over-specifying.

01 / SAMPLE PROJECT BRIEF

A realistic design question, not a claimed result.

The example project brief

A sample boutique hotel wants to improve the usability of a restaurant terrace and adjoining lounging areas, while retaining an open architectural feel.

How a design team might respond

The primary terrace requires a choice between overhead roof types—not both at once—supported by suitable exterior screens if needed. Smaller umbrellas remain useful away from the permanent structure.

Illustrative planning outcome

A practical design shortlist separating required roof decisions, complementary side screens and optional umbrella locations.

This is a proposed design approach, not an outcome measured at a real site. No installation, performance, customer success or sales result is claimed.

SYSTEM RELATIONSHIP DIAGRAM / SCENARIO 08

See how the products connect.

Purpose-made architectural miniatures give each zone visual context, while the interactive relationship diagram remains the guide to how the product families could be coordinated. Select a zone to explore its role.

PROJECT CONTEXTDining roof option / screens / open lounging

The two roof types shown are alternatives for one dining footprint. Screens may be evaluated with the selected roof; umbrellas belong beyond the covered zone.

Connections to coordinate

Illustrative relationship diagram only. No real project, site layout, measured distances, construction details, structural connection, manufacturer approval or performance certification is represented. Lines indicate planning interfaces, not physical pipes, cables or fixing details.

03 / PRODUCT FAMILY REFERENCES

What each system could contribute.

These are complementary product-family options, subject to exact model and local design checks. Approved supplier product photos below are references to those product families—not photographs of the illustrated example.

Architectural outdoor roofs

Dining overhead cover (option A)

A retractable fabric roof is one option where the guest and weather strategy benefits from variable cover.

Architectural louvre systems

Dining overhead cover (option B)

An architectural louvre roof is an alternative option rather than an extra roof layered over option A.

04 / DESIGN INTEGRATION

How the systems relate.

The value is not simply putting product names into a bundle. Their structural, drainage and operating interfaces must be planned before anything is specified or ordered.

The coordination logic

  • Decide between roof option A and option B before firm quotation.
  • Check the chosen structure can support proposed exterior screens.
  • Avoid placing umbrella shading where it conflicts with roof drainage or restaurant circulation.

Alternatives, not automatic additions

  • If roof anchorage or structure is unsuitable, reconsider the entire cover strategy rather than substituting an unverified fixing detail.

05 / TURNING THE PLAN INTO A REAL PROJECT

The checks that make it credible.

No assumed timeline, budget, wind capacity or sustainability result is substituted for site evidence.

Technical verification required

  • Existing building survey and structural suitability
  • Roof/screen interfaces and controls
  • Weather operation, fabric and fire documentation
  • Drainage and local approvals

What Apollo could coordinate

  • Alternative roof quotes with clearly separated configurations
  • Complementary screen and umbrella options

Local project-team responsibilities

  • Engineering of existing attachments
  • Building approvals, electrical and waterproofing installation

06 / YOUR OWN PROJECT

Use this design approach as a starting point—not a specification.

Bring your actual location, dimensions, drawings and project objectives. The enquiry pre-fills this scenario as inspiration, clearly marked as an illustrative example, so Apollo can review which real products and documents fit the site.

Important

All products are supply-only. Local qualified teams must establish site measurements, wind and fire obligations, structural design, approvals and installation. Supplier photos and illustrations are not a project-specific engineering assessment.
