SVALDR Landscape

Structure for the living landscape.

SVALDR principles

Shape the elements.

Plant first · planter second

Root volume, soil depth, drainage and irrigation should be sized around the mature planting rather than selecting a planter on appearance alone.

Use repetition deliberately

A consistent family of cubes, columns and linear planters creates stronger landscape structure than a collection of unrelated decorative containers.

Structural applications remain engineered

Large planters, elevated installations and retaining elements need project-specific review of weight, support, drainage and soil loads.

Project planning

Specify the site before the product.

Confirm the planting intent, soil volume, drainage, irrigation, filled weight, supporting surface and exposure before choosing the final dimensions. Rooftops, balconies, large specimen trees and retaining applications require additional project-specific assessment.
