Apollo NZ GlobalBuild Project Brief

Sports & Courts · Specific answer

Can Sports Flooring Be Installed Directly Over Grass?

For Apollo court-surface planning, natural grass and unsuitable soft ground are treated as a base-preparation issue first. The final court surface should be selected after a stable supporting base and drainage strategy are resolved.

Planning guidance — final supplied configuration remains project-specific.

01

Why grass is not the finished base

Natural ground can move, retain water and change level. Interlocking tile or roll-out flooring does not correct those conditions by itself.

02

Prepare the site first

The local project team should define the appropriate hard-base or engineered-base pathway for the site and intended sport.

03

Then select the sports surface

Once the base, levels and drainage are known, the surface can be compared properly.
