Record Foundry · Artwork & Templates

Build artwork to the production template, not the other way around.

Record sleeves, labels, Digipaks, J-cards and collector packaging all have different manufacturing geometry. Final artwork should only be released after the exact format, package and production route have been confirmed.

Format, manufacture, packaging and delivery in one production brief.

Every project is quoted against format, quantity, runtime, colour, packaging, finishing, current production capacity and destination.

01

Vinyl artwork

Jackets, gatefolds, centre labels and printed inners need to be built to the exact selected product geometry.

  • Front and rear jacket panels
  • Spines and folds
  • Centre labels
  • Inner sleeves and inserts
02

CD artwork

Disc faces and compact packaging use different print areas and folds depending on the selected case or card format.

  • Disc print area
  • Jewel-case inserts
  • Card wallet panels
  • Digipak panels and spines
03

Cassette artwork

J-card dimensions depend on the chosen panel count and case system, while shell printing has its own printable area.

  • J-card panels
  • Fold sequence
  • Shell print / label area
  • Case assembly
04

Premium finishes

Foil, embossing, Spot UV and numbering require defined production zones and are checked separately from the base artwork.

  • Finish masks
  • Registration review
  • Numbering zones
  • Supplier-specific tolerances

Production pathway

Specification first. Template second. Artwork approval third.

SKELVAR coordinates the final manufacturing template after the production route is selected, then the supplied artwork is checked and proofed against that specification before manufacture.

Production knowledge centre

Make the manufacturing decisions before the files go to production.

These guides explain the choices that most often affect format, artwork, quantity and production planning. Final templates and factory tolerances are issued only after the exact production route is selected.

How Record Foundry works

SKELVAR manages the production path. Specialist manufacturing partners make the physical product.

We do not present Apollo as the owner of a pressing plant. SKELVAR acts as the project and production-management interface: qualifying the release, coordinating the selected manufacturing route, managing specification and proofing, and keeping the physical formats aligned through production and delivery planning.

Production-ready audioFinal masters are supplied by the customer. Vinyl cutting and production-mastering requirements are confirmed per project.
Manufacturing templatesArtwork is prepared against the selected format, packaging and finishing specification before production approval.
Rights controlledThe customer must own or control the rights needed to reproduce the submitted recordings, artwork and other supplied material.
