Apollo NZ GlobalProject Brief
AETRENCharging Infrastructure Systems

Evidence & Qualification Centre

Qualify the exact charger, not the category label.

AETREN keeps certification, software/backend claims, metering/payment, thermal performance, enclosure suitability, load management and warranty tied to the exact offered platform and destination. New Zealand remains excluded until a suitable NZ-certified product platform is specifically approved.

Qualification matrix

What evidence should exist before procurement.

Status should be recorded against the actual offered charger and destination. “Available on request” is not treated as equivalent to verified evidence.

Evidence areaWhat to confirmRelease rule
Model identityExact charger family, power class, connector arrangement and enclosure/configurationRequired before certification or thermal claims are carried into a quotation.
Electrical certificationIssued certificates/reports applicable to exact model and destinationA certificate from another model/family is not treated as universal evidence.
OCPP / backendSupported OCPP version, backend independence, firmware and remote-management scopeConfirm by exact platform; do not assume open interoperability from marketing wording.
Metering / paymentMetering class, RFID, contactless/payment hardware and billing dependenciesDestination rules and operator model determine what evidence is required.
Thermal performanceOperating-temperature range and any sustained-output derating informationHigh ambient suitability requires model-specific thermal evidence.
Environmental protectionIP/enclosure statement, corrosion/coastal suitability and outdoor installation limitsCheck actual enclosure and test basis rather than relying on 'outdoor' wording.
Load managementController/site architecture, supported charger count, priority rules and fail-state behaviourThe site electrical design still belongs to the appointed local electrical team.
Warranty + sparesWarranty terms, support route, replaceable modules, critical spares and documentationCommercial release should include a realistic support path, not hardware alone.

Release gates

Six gates before an AETREN platform moves into a project.

The gates already used in the AETREN programme are now exposed as a public qualification framework.

01

Model-specific certification and issued evidence

Confirm against the exact model, configuration and destination before commercial release.

02

Destination electrical and connector requirements

Confirm against the exact model, configuration and destination before commercial release.

03

Ambient-temperature performance and thermal derating

Confirm against the exact model, configuration and destination before commercial release.

04

OCPP / backend interoperability and site-management scope

Confirm against the exact model, configuration and destination before commercial release.

05

Metering, RFID, payment and communications configuration

Confirm against the exact model, configuration and destination before commercial release.

06

Warranty, support, spares and project documentation

Confirm against the exact model, configuration and destination before commercial release.

Evidence boundaries

Product evidence does not replace local electrical design.

Product evidence

Exact charger certificates, datasheets, thermal information, software/backend data and warranty.

Site electrical design

Maximum demand, switchboards, protection, cabling, earthing, utility/grid interfaces and commissioning.

Civil / parking works

Trenching, foundations, barriers, parking geometry, drainage and accessibility.

Operator systems

Payment acquiring, billing, backend operations, customer support and service processes.

Destination compliance

Country-specific certification, metering, connector, electrical and public-charging rules.

Commercial release

Final scope, delivery, spares, warranty, manuals, support and responsibility matrix.
