Architectural screening systems combining solar control, ventilation, privacy and a distinctive visual identity. This guide turns the visual system family into a controlled project brief by connecting material, geometry, support, finish, evidence and site conditions before production drawings are released.
Planning guidance — final supplied configuration remains project-specific.
01
Start with the architectural role
Perforated Façades should be selected for the job it needs to perform on the building rather than from appearance alone. Typical pathways include Parking structures, Commercial buildings, Schools and campuses, Airports and transport, Hospitality.
Record whether the system is primarily cladding, screening, solar control, ventilation, privacy, feature architecture or a combination. That role determines which geometry, support and evidence questions matter most.
02
Define the geometry before the detail is frozen
Current design pathways can include Circular and geometric perforations, Graduated / variable-density patterns, Image-derived perforation concepts, Flat or folded panel forms, Custom open-area targets. The project drawings should define module logic, panel or profile direction, openings, corners, soffits, returns and visible joint intent before fabrication information is finalised.
Large or unusual modules should be reviewed against the actual material build-up, support centres, transport, lifting and installation sequence rather than inferred from an architectural render.
03
Coordinate the support and fixing system
The visible façade element depends on the subframe, brackets, rails, anchors and supporting substrate behind it. Fixing visibility, tolerances, adjustment, thermal movement and replacement access should be considered with the front-facing design.
Structural loads and fixing capacity remain project-specific. Apollo coordinates the supplied system and available technical information; final structural design and local verification remain with the appointed project professionals unless expressly included.
04
Tie evidence to the exact system build-up
Priority technical checks for this family include Panel size and thickness, Open-area percentage, Wind pressure and deflection, Edge distances and pattern limits, Framing / support centres, Finish and exposure environment. Any fire, structural, corrosion, bonding, coating or other performance evidence should match the actual material, thickness, assembly and finish being supplied.
Generic supplier certificates should not be transferred to a materially different façade build-up simply because the visible surface looks similar.
05
Use samples, mock-ups and controlled drawings before production
Where colour, texture, pattern, joint alignment, curvature or close-range appearance matters, use project samples or mock-ups before the production finish is frozen.
The final release package should coordinate approved drawings, material and finish schedule, panel or profile references, subframe interfaces, fixing logic, delivery sequencing and any project-specific inspection requirements.
