Shipping, Imports & Project Delivery — The Americas

How to plan international product shipping, customs, receiving and local delivery for The Americas projects, with supply-only responsibilities clearly defined.

USA, Canada and Latin American markets cannot share one customs, certification or building-code checklist. Apollo's established website pathways currently prioritise USA and Canada; other American destinations require individual feasibility review.

Apollo NZ Global is supply-only. Local customs clearance, statutory approvals, site engineering, installation and destination works are not included unless expressly identified in a written quotation.

Buyer pathway

From project specification to freight handover.

01

Identify the final project and consignee

State the exact country, region or state, project location, quantity and receiving party.

02

Confirm product scope and freight basis

Agree dimensions, packed weights, agreed Incoterm and named place, insurance, packing and handling requirements.

03

Prepare for destination clearance

Have the importer and their agent confirm HS classification, duties, taxes, origin and required permits before manufacturing release.

04

Arrange local receiving and installation

Separate any overseas freight from customs clearance, port fees, inland delivery, unloading, site works and local approvals.

Freight and receiving

Plan the whole route, not only the ocean leg.

Delivery point and handover

State the destination country, state/province, city, site and receiving port or inland terminal.

Import and commercial scope

Identify importer of record, Incoterm, customs broker, marine insurance, inland freight, delivery appointment and unloading.

Handling and site access

Check long-distance road restrictions, overweight or oversized loads, local handling and climate at the receiving site.

Destination compliance

Duties, taxes and import documentation.

Classification and taxes

USA: importer should check CBP classification and origin, tariff measures, applicable duties and any relevant federal product obligations.

Destination permissions

Canada: importer should check CBSA classification, GST/HST and other taxes, applicable duties, origin and any product requirements.

Shipping paperwork

For Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and South America, obtain country-specific customs and tax advice; do not reuse USA/Canada assumptions.

Rates, legal requirements and applicable certifications can change. This page does not provide binding customs, tax, engineering or legal advice; verify with the local importer, regulator and appointed professionals.
