Physically retracts

Request Project ReviewCADARN APERTA · Fixed-Size Retractable Aluminium Roof System
A motorised aluminium roof whose blades physically retract to create a genuinely open-sky outdoor space.
APERTA extends the CADARN kitset family beyond rotating louvres. Extend the aluminium roof for overhead shade and rain management, partially retract it when conditions suit, or move the blades back to create the maximum available roof opening.

Retract the roof · not just the blade angle
The aluminium blades travel back along the roof structure rather than simply remaining across the opening and rotating.
Retracting the roof exposes a substantially larger section of sky for direct light and a more genuinely outdoor feel.
The documented factory system includes the roof motor, receiver and remote control rather than a separate manual operating pathway.
Warm-white LED lighting around the perimeter beam is included in the current documented system configuration.
Residential + hospitality applications
These approved visualisations show the APERTA product direction in residential, poolside, hospitality and close-up roof-detail settings. They are product visualisations rather than completed customer installations.

Fixed factory sizes only
APERTA is intentionally a fixed-size factory system. Width, retracting length and 2.700 m standard height are selected from the published configurations below rather than altered to fit the site.
4-post format
Compact fixed-size configuration.
4-post format
Longer 3.000 m-wide fixed-size configuration.
6-post format
Factory configuration using six posts.
6-post format
Longest current 3.000 m-wide configuration.
4-post format
Wider fixed-size configuration for larger outdoor zones.
4-post format
Near-square fixed-size configuration.
6-post format
Larger factory configuration using six posts.
6-post format
Largest currently documented APERTA factory size.
Important: 4.892 m and 5.984 m length configurations use six posts in the current documented factory system. The site should be planned around the actual factory dimensions rather than rounded 3 × 3, 3 × 4 or 4 × 6 m descriptions.
Current verified reference specification
The launch specification below is limited to the dimensions and equipment contained in the current Model 180 factory quotation held by Apollo.
Apollo is not currently publishing a specific aluminium temper, wind-speed rating, snow-load rating, drainage-capacity figure, IP rating or warranty period for APERTA. Those claims remain evidence-controlled until current production documentation is reconfirmed.
Three roof conditions
Extend the aluminium roof across the structure for overhead shade and rain management through the integrated roof and gutter pathway.
Stop the roof between closed and fully retracted positions to tune the amount of opening to the way the space is being used.
Move the blades back to create the maximum available open-sky area. Exact blade-stack depth and open percentage will be published once the current factory drawing is reconfirmed.
A wind / rain sensor is available in the documented accessory package. Exact automation logic is confirmed with the current controller before order.
Current launch boundary
The current public launch treats APERTA as a freestanding system in the eight documented factory sizes. Building-connected versions are not being shown as standard until current factory fixing and interface documentation is reconfirmed.
Project information
CADARN colour direction
Black and White remain the standard CADARN colour directions for APERTA. FlaxPod Matt can be reviewed as a project colour at additional cost. Other powder-coat colours are not presented as standard public options.
Current add-on pathways
Included in the documented configuration and coordinated with the motorised roof electrical pathway.
Matching outdoor screens can be reviewed against the selected APERTA size. Manual and motorised screen pathways exist in the documented accessory package.
Available as an accessory. Final operating behaviour is confirmed with the selected controller rather than assumed from historical smart-control wording.
RGB lighting appears in the documented accessory package and can be reviewed where a project wants a different lighting treatment.
Choose the CADARN roof by behaviour
Each CADARN pathway solves a different outdoor-roof brief.
Original product reference
This retained reference image is used as a product-form guide for the new CADARN APERTA visual set. Final production geometry always follows the current confirmed factory documentation.

Direct answers
CADARN APERTA is a fixed-size motorised retractable aluminium roof system. Its aluminium blades physically retract along the roof structure to create a substantially open-sky condition rather than simply remaining in place and rotating.
No. APERTA is a fixed-size factory system and is offered only in the eight published dimensions. Custom width, length and height are not offered as standard APERTA configurations.
The confirmed public function is roof retraction. Apollo is not publishing a rotate-and-retract claim for APERTA unless the current production mechanism is specifically reconfirmed by the manufacturer.
Yes. The current documented factory configuration includes a 220 V motor, receiver and remote control.
