ZAHREQ · PROJECT PLANNING GUIDE

How to brief an architectural tensile membrane project.

A useful first brief does not need finished engineering, but it should give the membrane specialist enough information to establish the correct structural and material pathway.
01

1. Define the project location

Country, city and exact site conditions drive wind, climate, corrosion and local approval requirements.

Country and cityCoastal or marine exposureOpen, urban or sheltered terrainHigh heat / UV exposureKnown authority or design-code requirements
02

2. Define the geometry

Provide the area to be covered, required clear spans, heights, circulation zones and any architectural form already shown in concept drawings.

03

3. Define performance requirements

Known fire, wind, drainage, translucency, lighting, maintenance and service-life expectations should be identified before membrane selection is frozen.

04

4. Define project responsibilities

Apollo is supply-only. The project must identify the local engineer, authority pathway, foundation and civil-work responsibility, installation contractor and whether supplier site supervision should be reviewed.

05

5. Control final geometry

For PTFE and ETFE projects where site erection can affect membrane fit, final supporting geometry should be verified through the approved measurement pathway before the membrane is released for final manufacture.

NEXT STEP

Turn the planning information into a project review.

Send the location, use, dimensions and available drawings. ZAHREQ can then assess the appropriate PTFE, PVDF or ETFE pathway and identify the technical information still required.
