LUTHVAR · FACILITY OPERATIONS

Specify the maintenance plan at the same time as the sports facility.

Surface performance, goals, seating, lighting, electronics and safety systems all deteriorate differently. This centre turns the sport-specific technical library into an operational checklist so maintenance, spares and inspection responsibilities are visible before handover.

ROUTINE SCHEDULE

Basketball: make inspection frequency visible.

The suggested frequency is a planning prompt based on operating intensity. Manufacturer instructions, statutory requirements and competent-person inspection intervals always take precedence.

01
Weekly

Court cleaning and slip-control regime

02
Monthly

Humidity / moisture monitoring

03
Quarterly

Backstop and ring inspection

04
Annual / manufacturer interval

Padding and protection inspection

05
Weekly

Shot-clock / scoring functional checks

06
Monthly

Seating and guard inspection

07
Quarterly

Floor recoating / resurfacing planning

08
Annual / manufacturer interval

Critical spares register

HANDOVER REGISTER

Six controls that stop the O&M file becoming a folder nobody uses.

01

Record asset / system identification and installation date

02

Keep exact manufacturer manuals, warranties and spare-parts list

03

Assign a named person / contractor for routine inspections

04

Record defects, corrective action and return-to-service approval

05

Keep governing-body / certification re-test dates where applicable

06

Maintain controlled copies of drawings and exact-system data

FAULT / SYMPTOM GUIDE

Use symptoms to trigger investigation before failure becomes normal operation.

These are diagnostic prompts, not repair instructions. Unsafe or structurally suspect equipment should be removed from use and assessed by the appropriate competent person.

01

Dead spots or inconsistent ball rebound

Check slab flatness, subfloor support, moisture damage and local floor deformation.

02

Backstop difficult to move

Check wheel condition, floor thresholds, route width, floor protection and operating procedure.

03

Player glare

Review luminaire location/aiming, direct sun and reflective floor/display surfaces.

04

Score / shot-clock sync issues

Check protocol, cabling, power, controller settings and exact product compatibility.

05

Floor marking wear

Check coating system, cleaning chemistry, event protection and maintenance cycle.

06

Poor sightlines

Recheck courtside obstructions, first-row position, riser geometry and spectator focal point.

EXPORT PLAN

Carry the O&M schedule into handover and facility management.

Download or copy the sport-specific plan, then replace planning intervals with the exact manufacturer, governing-body and local requirements for the installed systems.
