How Much Do Outdoor Blinds Cost in New Zealand?

Outdoor-blind prices are difficult to compare from a single headline figure because the opening, fabric, operating system and included site work can be completely different. Apollo prices Velaris as a supply-focused project system after the opening and required outcome have been reviewed.

Planning guidance — final supplied configuration remains project-specific.

01

Opening width, drop and blind count are the starting point

A wide or tall opening changes cassette, tube, guide, fabric and operating requirements. Multiple medium openings also price differently from one very large opening even when the total covered area is similar.

For exceptionally large spans, dividing the opening into independently operated zones can improve handling, servicing and everyday flexibility and should be considered before a price is compared.

02

Mesh, clear PVC and blockout are different product pathways

Mesh is commonly selected to balance shade, view, airflow and privacy. Clear PVC creates a more continuous transparent barrier with different handling and condensation considerations. Blockout prioritises shade and visual screening.

The fabric outcome should be decided before treating two quotations as equivalent. Fabric openness, colour and the required level of view or privacy can change the final specification.

03

Manual, motorised and hybrid operation change the control package

Motorised blinds add the motor, power, controls and service access. Selected systems can also use smart controls, sensors or hybrid hand-crank backup. Manual operation can suit appropriate openings where simpler day-to-day use is acceptable.

Electrical connection and site wiring are local project works unless specifically included in writing.

04

Exposure and fixing structure can change the system class

Wind exposure, coastal salt, opening geometry and the structure behind the visible finish affect system selection and fixing review. A blind that fits the measured width is not automatically suitable for the site.

Cassette support, side-guide fixing zones and the supporting substrate should be visible in the project brief, particularly for large or exposed openings.

05

Compare supply, installation and freight on the same basis

Some New Zealand prices are presented as installed packages while others cover the blind only. Check whether measurement, freight, installation, electrical connection, access equipment and site preparation are included before comparing the bottom line.

Apollo's quotation separates the supplied Velaris system from destination-specific site works unless those items are expressly included.

06

What Apollo needs for an outdoor-blind quote

A useful blind quote starts with the opening and the comfort outcome, not only a nominal width. Photographs of the full opening and fixing surfaces are particularly valuable.

  • Clear opening width and drop
  • Number of openings
  • Photographs of cassette and side-guide fixing zones
  • Shade, glare, privacy, airflow or rain-reduction priority
  • Mesh, clear PVC or blockout preference if known
  • Manual, motorised or hybrid preference
  • Power availability
  • Coastal or high-wind exposure
  • New Zealand destination and delivery access
