Can Outdoor Blinds Handle Wind?

Outdoor blinds are used in exposed outdoor spaces, but there is no single wind number that safely describes every model, size and site.

Planning guidance — final supplied configuration remains project-specific.

01

Opening and site both matter

Width, drop, fabric area, fixing structure, building geometry and exposure all influence how the blind behaves.

02

Operating rules matter

Users should understand when the blind should be retracted and what inspection is appropriate after strong weather. Automation does not replace those rules.

03

Do not confuse blinds with storm shutters

Architectural outdoor blinds are not a substitute for tested hurricane shutters or impact-opening protection.
