Apollo NZ GlobalStart Project Brief

EMBR · Elemental Living · Technical Centre

Plan the fire, flue, base and surroundings before the oven arrives.

EMBR is live-fire cooking equipment, not a plug-and-play appliance category. Wood-fired ovens, charcoal grills and combined outdoor kitchens need the site, base, clearances, smoke path, delivery route and local fire requirements checked around the exact system.

Core technical topics

Six areas should be resolved before installation.

Exact model manuals and local building/fire requirements override general planning guidance.

01

Fire + fuel

Use dry seasoned firewood/charcoal appropriate to the appliance. Fuel type, fire size, warm-up and retained-heat operation affect performance and maintenance.

02

Flue / smoke pathway

Flue height, nearby roofs/walls, wind, sheltered courtyards and hospitality seating can affect smoke behaviour. Local fire/building requirements take precedence.

03

Clearances + surroundings

Combustible surfaces, walls, roofs, furniture, planting and overhead structures must be reviewed around the exact oven/grill and local rules.

04

Base + lifting

Masonry-style outdoor kitchens and larger ovens can be heavy. Base capacity, transport, crane/fork access and final placement should be planned before delivery.

05

Cooking heat cycle

Pizza, bread, roasting and retained-heat cooking use different fire/heat cycles. The cooking guide should be treated separately from installation/safety requirements.

06

Cleaning + care

Ash removal, cooking-floor care, flue inspection, exterior weathering, covers and seasonal checks should be part of ownership.

Project checklist

What should be confirmed before delivery.

Exact model

Overall size, mass, chimney/flue arrangement, accessories and supplied configuration.

Base / structure

Flat, non-combustible, load-capable base and any local foundation/structural review.

Delivery route

Vehicle/crate dimensions, gate/door widths, gradients, turning, forklift/crane or final placement method.

Combustible context

Walls, roofs, eaves, pergolas, timber decks, furniture, planting and neighbouring property interfaces.

Smoke / flue

Local rules, discharge location, prevailing wind, nearby openings and hospitality/public use.

Operations

Fuel storage, ash handling, cleaning, hot-surface management and staff/user procedures.

Important boundary

Cooking guidance is not an installation approval.

Recipes, heat-up guidance and cooking technique help with operation. They do not replace model instructions, fire clearances, flue requirements, structural review or local approvals.
