LUTHVAR BASKETBALL · TECHNICAL CENTRE

Choose the equipment family by hall interface before choosing the exact model.

One public technical workspace for mobile, floor-fixed, wall and ceiling backstops, boards, rings, padding, teaching systems and FÍSVOR match control. Published specifications use LUTHVAR naming; exact model selection and supporting evidence are matched after the project pathway is defined.

EQUIPMENT FAMILIES

Eight controlled public pathways.

These families describe how equipment behaves in the hall while keeping public naming consistent and avoiding any implication that one approval transfers to another model.

Mobile Competition Backstops

Floor-based pathway for clubs, competition halls and arenas where movement, floor loading and dedicated parking are part of the operating plan.

Exact model approval where required

Floor-Fixed Backstops

Permanent anchored pathway where fixed geometry is acceptable and the slab / footing interface can be engineered around the selected system.

Anchor + structural interface

Wall-Mounted / Side-Fold

School, training and club pathway where the building wall can carry reactions and the system can fold or park outside the active court envelope.

Wall structure + clearance review

Ceiling-Mounted / Retractable

Overhead pathway for shared halls where floor space must remain clear. Roof geometry, supports, lights, ducts and divider travel are checked first.

Roof / secondary-steel review first

Backboards, Rings + Nets

Matched support hardware for the selected backstop or mounting system across school, club and competition pathways.

Exact construction + approval status

Padding + Impact Protection

Backstop padding plus wall and column protection coordinated around player movement, support geometry and wider impact zones.

Exact fit + project material requirements

Practice + Adjustable Systems

Teaching, junior and training equipment selected around age groups, supervision, height adjustment, timetable, shared-hall use and storage.

Use case + safe operating method

FÍSVOR Match Control

Shot clocks, scoreboard, game clock, scorer console, repeaters and displays coordinated as a separate digital evidence and services layer.

Protocol + product evidence separate

TECHNICAL SELECTION MATRIX

Match the equipment family to the hall before matching the exact model.

The matrix is deliberately conservative. It narrows the public LUTHVAR pathway by operating level and installation logic while leaving exact model approval, load and product evidence to the controlled qualification step.

EVIDENCE GATE

From hall brief to exact equipment release.

The public pathway narrows the technical family. The exact model is released only after geometry, structure, operation and evidence are matched to the real project.

01

Hall geometry

Freeze court envelope, boundary lane, backstop location, movement zones and storage / parking positions.

02

Structural + floor interface

Confirm slab, anchors, wall / roof support, floor build-up, loads and clearances before release.

03

Operating method

Confirm manual, assisted or powered operation, movement route, supervision, controls and safe changeover.

04

Exact equipment evidence

Match the selected public pathway to the exact model, technical data and approval evidence required by the project.

05

Services + handover

Close power, data, FÍSVOR interfaces, installation scope, testing, documentation and destination requirements.

INTERFACE LOGIC

Every mounting method creates a different building problem.

The backstop interacts with the floor, slab, wall or roof structure, divider path, lighting, FÍSVOR, storage and operating team.

MOBILE

Floor load + movement

Check rolling path, thresholds, finished floor protection, parking geometry, operating method and the boundary when deployed.

FLOOR-FIXED

Slab + anchoring

Check base reactions, anchor design, floor build-up, tolerance and future access before fixing locations are frozen.

WALL

Wall reactions + fold zone

Check primary structure, secondary framing, wall finishes, folded geometry, player clearance and divider / service conflicts.

CEILING

Roof geometry + services

Check support steel, reaction loads, clear height, retract path, lights, ducts, sprinklers, speakers and divider travel together.

QUOTE-RELEASE CHECKLIST

What Apollo needs before exact equipment is quoted.

Enough information is needed to avoid choosing a backstop that the hall cannot safely support, move or store.

01

Project use level and intended competition pathway

02

Hall plan with court, boundary, seating and storage zones

03

Preferred mounting type or permission for Apollo to recommend one

04

Floor build-up / slab information where available

05

Wall, roof or secondary-steel drawings for supported systems

06

Required operation: manual, assisted or powered

07

Backstop parking / equipment-storage location

08

Shot clocks, scoreboard and FÍSVOR requirements

09

Destination, programme and installation responsibility

COMMERCIAL RELEASE DISCIPLINE

Evidence checked. Scope checked. Then quote.

The technical-centre pathway deliberately separates a promising product family from a commercially releasable exact configuration. This prevents competition claims, warranty assumptions and building interfaces from being carried across to the wrong product.

01

Requirement first

Confirm the actual competition or tender requirement before selecting any approval pathway. A school, club, Level 2 competition and Level 1 event do not use the same evidence gate.

02

Exact model evidence

Approval language attaches only to the exact product configuration being quoted. A visually similar backstop, board, shot clock or seating system does not inherit another model's approval.

03

Commercial release

Current technical evidence alone does not make a system quote-ready. Warranty, replacement parts, operating documentation and the permitted project scope must also be closed.

04

Building interface

The equipment is released only after floor, wall, roof, power, data, storage, movement and installation responsibilities are clear enough for the selected system.

Competition approvals are not family-level claims.

A mobile, ceiling or fixed pathway is not automatically FIBA-approved because another visually similar product is approved. Exact current evidence is checked against the model that will actually be supplied.

NEXT STEP

Use the selector, then build the hall brief.

The selector narrows the equipment family. The hall brief adds geometry, storage, structure and venue operation so Apollo can move into exact controlled model selection.
