Original RAWNARA monumental waterfront sculpture design study

RAWNARA / DESIGN-TO-MANUFACTURE CENTRE

From a vision
to a viable supply brief.

See how extraordinary architectural art is translated into design information, production decisions, factory inspection and export planning—with a clear boundary around what must be proved for each commission.

Original RAWNARA architectural studies · Technical diagrams explain a workflow, not actual engineered project drawings.

01 / WHY THE PROCESS MATTERS

World-class art needs
world-class preparation.

Large-scale artwork cannot be assessed solely by its appearance. Art rights, site loading, environmental exposure, material finish, joint placement, lighting access, lifting and transport all influence feasibility.

Use the examples below to understand the documents and decisions a project team will need. The diagrams do not certify a particular supplier or installation.

02 / SELECT AN ORIGINAL RAWNARA STUDY

Three different technical challenges.

Choose a destination setting to see relevant design considerations. No illustration is a completed project.

03 / INTERACTIVE PROJECT SUPPLY PATHWAY

Seven decisions from art to supply.

Each stage identifies the inputs, professional responsibilities and documentation to agree before moving forward.

ARTISTIC INTENTRAWNARA / DIAGRAMMATIC STUDY / NOT AN ENGINEERING DRAWINGDESIGN RIGHTSAUTHOR TO APPROVE
SCHEMATIC ONLY / NOT FOR CONSTRUCTION

Generic formation, interface and logistics principles; geometry and module locations here are deliberately not engineering specifications for Study 46.

STAGE 01 / CREATIVE BRIEF

Protect the artistic intention.

Start with the place, experience and creative ownership. Establish who can approve the concept and what has permission to be adapted or manufactured.

Primary responsibilityClient / appointed artist or designer
Typical documents and decisions
  • Authorised concept and rights basis
  • Destination location and experience objectives
  • Approval responsibilities and intended lifespan
Handoff condition

Approved design intent, not fabrication approval

04 / SELECTED EXAMPLE: STUDY 46

Tidal Memory: questions before quotation.

A sculptural destination sequence with large expressive metallic surfaces, planned as distinct pieces along a waterfront.

Feasibility questions

  1. Agree artwork authorship, quantity and scope before developing manufacturing geometry
  2. Verify site-specific wind, soil, splash and corrosion exposure with local professionals
  3. Define an independently checked support/foundation interface for each sculptural element
  4. Resolve segment joins, finish continuity, accessible maintenance and shipping limits

Documents to request

  • Approved artwork rights and site masterplan
  • Survey, wind/exposure and foundation interface data
  • Dimensioned 3D geometry with module-joint schedule
  • Cladding, coating sample and finish acceptance criteria
  • Factory inspection and packaging/receiving schedule

05 / DEVELOPER PROCUREMENT WORKSHEET

Qualify the brief before committing.

Select the inputs relevant to your project. This checklist is a working aid, not an online engineering assessment or a quotation.

06 / WHO DOES WHAT

One clear scope boundary.

APOLLO NZ GLOBAL / SUPPLY

Project supply coordination

Compile requirements, source manufacturer proposals, coordinate agreed goods-supply documentation and export preparation. Apollo is not the local project designer or installer.

SELECTED MANUFACTURER

Fabrication and factory records

Propose manufacturable geometry, materials, samples, shop documents, QA and supply deliverables against the contract. Capability is checked independently for each commission.

LOCAL PROJECT PROFESSIONALS

Approvals and installation

Architects, engineers, authorities, installers and operators appointed by the customer determine local compliance, site acceptance, foundations, works, commissioning and ongoing maintenance.

RAWNARA's design studies and diagrams do not provide structural ratings, certified drawings, promised fabrication capacities or completed-project evidence. No previous supplier work is used as customer-facing marketing.

RAWNARA / START A COMMISSION

A design deserves
a credible route to supply.

Start with an artistic direction or your own authorised design. Apollo can structure a made-to-order supply enquiry without asking you to produce full drawings on day one.
