LUTHVAR SPORTS NETTING - PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATION Sport: Baseball / Softball Application: Backstop Material pathway: Polyester preferred Environment: Standard outdoor Support pathway: New pole-supported system Indicative dimensions: Not yet supplied 1. PROJECT INTENT Provide a sport-specific ball-containment or training-netting system for the nominated application. The specification is performance-based at this stage. Exact mesh, twine, breaking strength, panel geometry, edge finishing, hardware, support structure, foundations and structural loads shall only be relied upon after the exact supplied system and current technical evidence are confirmed. 2. SPORT-SPECIFIC NET SELECTION Netting shall be selected for baseball / softball ball containment with the containment zone divided where necessary between backstop, foul-ball, spectator and practice areas. Existing manufacturer references include 45 × 45 mm mesh with 3 mm knotless polyester or PP for baseball applications; final project selection shall be confirmed against the required containment area and use. 3. APPLICATION The netting shall be configured for backstop. Containment coverage, openings, overlaps, panel joints, access points and adjacent spectator / property interfaces shall be coordinated to the actual field or training geometry rather than a generic rectangular allowance. 4. MATERIAL Use polyester as the preferred starting material where technically appropriate. Final material selection shall be confirmed against the exact sport, mesh/twine requirement, UV exposure and project evidence. 5. NET CONSTRUCTION Mesh size, twine diameter, knotless / knotted construction, colour, panel size and perimeter finishing shall be stated for the exact offered net. Where reinforced edges, ropes, rings or other finishing are required, the supplier shall identify the material, diameter and fixing method used. 6. ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE Confirm outdoor UV/weathering suitability for the exact net specification and coordinate drainage, corrosion and maintenance appropriate to the site. 7. SUPPORT STRUCTURE Pole material, section, height, spacing, foundations, anchorage and cable layout shall be project-specific and supported by appropriate structural design for the destination and site conditions. 8. HARDWARE & TENSIONING Hooks, clips, carabiners, cables, turnbuckles, pulleys, tensioners, attachment points and other hardware shall be identified by material and finish where included. Coastal or corrosion-resistant grades shall be evidenced for the exact supplied components. 9. STRUCTURAL DESIGN Netting selection does not by itself determine the structural system. Pole size, pole spacing, cable loads, foundations, anchorage, building reactions and wind design shall be project-specific and reviewed for the actual site, dimensions, exposure and applicable local requirements. 10. TECHNICAL EVIDENCE Where relevant, current manufacturer evidence may include tensile / breaking-load, UV/weathering and abrasion testing. Any stated ASTM, ISO, flame-retardant, certification or test claim shall apply to the exact material and configuration offered. Evidence for another net family shall not be transferred by assumption. 11. WARRANTY & SERVICE LIFE Manufacturer catalogue service-life guidance shall not be treated as a LUTHVAR warranty. The actual product warranty, exclusions, environmental limits and maintenance conditions shall be confirmed in writing for the supplied specification. 12. PROJECT SUBMITTALS Before final release, provide the exact net specification, panel schedule, edge-finishing details, hardware schedule, current test evidence where applicable, support interface information, installation guidance and any project-specific drawings available for the selected system. 13. SUPPLY SCOPE Apollo NZ Global's base scope is wholesale / project supply of the quoted LUTHVAR system and specifically stated supporting technical information. Structural design, foundations, site measurement, local code review and installation remain with the appointed project team unless expressly included in writing. Specification note: This generated wording is a coordination template. It is not structural engineering, local-code approval, legal advice or a substitute for exact-system technical documentation and appointed professional review.
NEXT STEP
Turn the draft into a project brief.
Use the specification as the design-intent layer, then submit the real dimensions, location, drawings and exposure conditions for technical review.
