Glass vs Outdoor Blinds for an Outdoor Room

Glass and blinds can both close the sides of an outdoor room, but they create very different levels of permanence, ventilation and weather control.

Planning guidance — final supplied configuration remains project-specific.

01

Blinds keep the room adaptable

Retractable screens can disappear when not needed and can balance shade, privacy and airflow depending on fabric.

02

Glass creates a more fixed enclosure

Operable or fixed glass can provide clearer views and stronger separation from weather but needs track, threshold, cleaning and structural planning.

03

Hybrid rooms are possible

Some projects combine glass on selected sides with blinds elsewhere. The complete enclosure should be considered during structural and drainage planning.
