Closed louvres can provide useful overhead rain protection when the system and drainage are correctly configured. Wind-driven rain, side openings and site conditions still matter.

Wind-driven rain can enter from sides or around interfaces. Avoid treating an operable louvre structure as a sealed building envelope unless the whole enclosure has been designed and verified for that purpose.
