01Wind, cyclone and structural suitability
The appointed Fiji design professional must establish the site's applicable wind design basis and exposure, including terrain, topography, building importance, connections, supports, foundations and any local approval requirements. Do not use generic catalogue wind ratings as proof of project suitability.
02Salt, corrosion and materials
Request documented substrate alloys, finish preparation, coating specification, fastener grade, isolation between dissimilar metals, drain paths, cleaning recommendations and replacement hardware. Distance from the coast alone does not determine corrosivity.
03Tropical rainfall and water management
Check gutter capacity, roof runoff path, downpipes, overflow, water discharge, local slab falls, ground drainage and water entry at building interfaces. Movable and retractable roofs may have operating limits during severe weather.
04Installation and service responsibility
Apollo supplies agreed products and available manufacturer documents. Local measured surveys, groundworks, anchorage, electrical connections, construction, permits, inspection and final compliance remain with the appointed Fiji team.
05Remote-island maintainability
Consider access for servicing motors, tracks and drainage; stock of suitable consumables and spare parts; secure delivery storage and the ability to replace components without specialist overseas lifting equipment.
06Technical evidence before payment
Ask for the selected model's drawings, manufacturing specifications, relevant test reports, materials and finish data, packing list, warranty schedule and applicable operating instructions. Confirm whether project-specific engineering can be provided, and at whose cost.
