KNOTTR OUTDOOR COURTS

Outdoor 3x3 basketball courts: surface, drainage, heat, light and public use.

Outdoor performance is controlled by the site as much as by the court tile or coating. Drainage, heat expansion, UV, wind, lighting spill, corrosion and public-use maintenance should be resolved before product selection.

PLANNING REFERENCE

Resolve the project logic before selecting the exact products.

This page answers one narrow planning question. Use the Technical Centre and Project Brief for the complete 3x3 system.

01

Start with water

Survey the supporting base, identify ponding and give water a route away from the playing area. Open-grid surfaces do not remove the need for a functioning civil base.

02

Design for the climate

Check heat expansion, intense UV, wind-driven rain, coastal exposure and maintenance access against the selected surface, backstop, fencing and lighting.

03

Public use changes the specification

Schools, councils and parks need maintainable edges, practical spare-part replacement, robust equipment and accessible circulation rather than event-only detailing.

PROJECT CHECK

Information worth confirming before the brief moves forward.

Survey levels and drainage

Confirm surface climate suitability

Review backstop corrosion / exposure
