LUTHVAR · VENUE OPERATIONS

Temporary surface protection for stadium changeovers, events and venue conversion.

Protect the underlying sports surface while the venue changes use. LUTHVAR coordinates temporary protection around the actual field or floor, event loads, pedestrian and service traffic, covering duration, ventilation, drainage, access routes, installation sequence and recovery plan.

SYSTEM PATHWAYS

Select the operating mode before the exact product.

These are project pathways rather than fixed off-the-shelf configurations. Final dimensions, materials, drives, controls, loads and evidence are locked against the selected system.

01LIGHT-DUTY EVENT MODE

Pedestrian Protection

Temporary modular protection for spectator circulation, queues, concourses or event areas where the underlying sports surface needs separation from concentrated foot traffic.

Best suited to
  • Concert standing zones
  • Temporary event circulation
  • Exhibition-style use
  • Short-duration public access
Surface ventilation, drainage, slip, point loading and maximum covering duration must be checked against the exact protection system and underlying turf/floor.
02DISTRIBUTED LOAD PATHWAY

Temporary Seating Zones

Protection beneath temporary seating or event infrastructure where load spread, jointing and floor/turf preservation need to be coordinated together.

Best suited to
  • Temporary grandstands
  • Floor-seating layouts
  • Event overlay
  • Arena / stadium conversion
Seat-leg and support reactions can create concentrated point loads. The allowable layout must be assessed from actual support geometry, not a generic headline load figure.
03PROJECT-SPECIFIC HEAVY DUTY

Service & Equipment Routes

Defined access lanes for selected event servicing, carts or equipment movement where the protection build-up and underlying surface can safely support the intended traffic.

Best suited to
  • Event servicing
  • Controlled equipment routes
  • Back-of-house changeover
  • Selected vehicle / plant access after engineering review
Forklifts, telehandlers, trucks, cranes and heavy plant are never assumed suitable from compressive strength alone. Axle loads, tyres, turning, braking, subgrade and turf condition all matter.
04SPECIALIST SURFACE PATHWAY

Track / Indoor Floor Protection

Temporary protection for athletics tracks, indoor sports floors and other finished surfaces where scuff, indentation, point load, moisture and cleaning need a different protection strategy from live turf.

Best suited to
  • Athletics venues
  • Indoor arenas
  • Sprung or resilient sports floors
  • Temporary exhibitions / ceremonies
The protection layer must be chemically and mechanically compatible with the exact finished surface and must not trap moisture or create permanent indentation.

PROJECT DECISIONS

Resolve the interfaces that control the system.

The product comes after the operating brief. Building structure, surface, movement routes, services and maintenance access can all change the correct system.

01

Underlying surface

Identify natural grass, hybrid turf, synthetic turf, athletics track, timber sports floor or resilient floor before selecting the protection system.

02

Event load map

Separate spectators, temporary seating, staging, service routes and any vehicle movements so each zone has the correct protection class.

03

Covering duration

Set installation time, event duration and removal window. Live turf can be damaged by heat, moisture, reduced light and restricted airflow even without excessive structural load.

04

Drainage & ventilation

Plan water movement, airflow and any irrigation / turf-management requirements during the covered period rather than treating the flooring as a sealed overlay.

05

Movement & joints

Define locking, edge ramps, cable crossings, transitions, turning zones and removal sequence to avoid panel movement or local overload.

06

Recovery plan

Agree post-event removal, inspection, cleaning, turf grooming/repair, watering, field testing and return-to-play responsibilities before the event.

PROJECT SEQUENCE

Freeze the project in the right order.

Each step closes a different risk before manufacture or supply.

01

Map event zones

Set standing, seating, staging, service, cable and circulation zones against the underlying sports surface.

02

Confirm loads & duration

Record actual support reactions, traffic type, covering period, climate exposure and recovery window.

03

Select protection build-up

Choose the exact modular protection pathway, transitions, ramps and handling/storage method for each zone.

04

Install, monitor, recover

Control deployment, inspect during use, remove in sequence and complete the agreed field/floor recovery and handover checks.

EVIDENCE & RELEASE CONTROL

Exact-system evidence before public performance claims.

Temporary venue protection is a project-specific interface between the event load and the underlying sports surface. LUTHVAR does not describe a protection system as universally suitable for spectators, seating, forklifts or heavy vehicles; each use case is released only against the exact product evidence, load case, duration and surface condition.

  • Exact panel/module material, dimensions, connection system and current independent load/slip/fire evidence reviewed before performance claims.
  • Any published compressive-strength value is not used as a universal allowable vehicle or temporary-structure load.
  • Natural-grass use requires exact guidance on covering duration, ventilation, drainage, temperature and turf-recovery procedure.
  • Vehicle/service-route suitability is based on actual axle/point loads, tyre contact, turning and underlying surface/sub-base conditions.
  • Track, timber and resilient-floor compatibility is confirmed for the exact finished surface before deployment.
  • Installation rate, handling equipment, pallet/storage system, cleaning, replacement modules, warranty and operator procedures are documented.

Apollo NZ Global is supply-only. Event engineering, temporary works, field/turf management, vehicle-route approval, local installation, electrical/cable protection, crowd management and return-to-play decisions remain with the appointed venue, event and local project specialists unless expressly included.

NEXT STEP

Turn the system pathway into a project-specific scope.

Send the intended use, venue geometry, destination, operating mode and any available drawings. Apollo will review the system path before quotation.
