PROJECT PATHProject Brief
01

PROJECT INTENT

Define the facility level before selecting systems.

01Schools · councils · participation

Community / education

Community court with durable base, surface, net and safe access.

02Clubs · academies · universities

Club / academy

Club court bank with fencing, lighting, acoustic controls, shade and spectator circulation.

03Regional · national competition

Competition

Tournament-oriented court layout with controlled surface, lighting, barriers, officials and event operation.

04International · professional · broadcast

Elite / major venue

Commercial social-play venue with high court density, acoustics, hospitality, booking flow, storage and FÍSVOR/event systems.

02

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Twelve coordination clauses for the complete facility.

01

geometry

Plan the playing rectangle plus safe margins, gates, divider barriers, circulation and adjacent-court separation. Commercial density should never override safe access and player movement.

02

surface

Start with the base: cracking, joints, drainage, moisture and flatness. Compare acrylic, cushioned and modular systems around comfort, wet use, maintenance and repairability.

03

equipment

Permanent, socketed or portable nets need consistent height, tension, centre support and storage. Divider barriers are a separate operating system from the playing net.

04

lighting

Coordinate glare, pole placement, spill light and vertical ball visibility. Indoor lighting must also work with roof services and acoustic treatment.

05

spectators

Provide safe waiting/viewing positions, shade, benches and accessible routes outside ball paths and gate swing zones.

06

structure

Coordinate slab/base, fencing posts, lighting foundations, shade/cover systems and any indoor suspension/services before construction.

07

environment

Outdoor heat, UV, wind and rain affect surface, nets, fencing and shade. Indoor projects need ventilation, reverberation and acoustic isolation planning.

08

accessibility

Accessible approach, court entry, viewing, social areas and inclusive programmes should be part of the initial layout.

09

storage

Portable nets, barriers, ball carts, maintenance equipment and event furniture need a realistic storage and handling plan.

10

technology

Booking/access, score display, cameras, digital signage, PA and FÍSVOR can support commercial/tournament venues but should not complicate simple community courts.

11

evidence

Separate USA Pickleball / applicable rules, ASBA construction guidance, exact product data and local civil/electrical/building requirements.

12

lifecycle

Plan crack repair, recoating, modular-tile checks, net replacement, fence/gate maintenance, acoustic-panel inspection, lighting cleaning and drainage maintenance.

03

PROJECT INPUT SCHEDULE

Information to obtain before the exact system is released.

01

04

DRAWING & SUBMITTAL ROADMAP

Draw the interfaces that can create procurement errors.

01

Court-bank layout

Planning reference first. Exact fabrication, foundation, fixing or selected-system drawings follow after system verification.

02

Base + drainage detail

Planning reference first. Exact fabrication, foundation, fixing or selected-system drawings follow after system verification.

03

Gate/fence/divider plan

Planning reference first. Exact fabrication, foundation, fixing or selected-system drawings follow after system verification.

04

Lighting plan

Planning reference first. Exact fabrication, foundation, fixing or selected-system drawings follow after system verification.

05

Acoustic zoning diagram

Planning reference first. Exact fabrication, foundation, fixing or selected-system drawings follow after system verification.

06

Shade/spectator plan

Planning reference first. Exact fabrication, foundation, fixing or selected-system drawings follow after system verification.

07

Commercial circulation plan

Planning reference first. Exact fabrication, foundation, fixing or selected-system drawings follow after system verification.

08

Storage + operations plan

Planning reference first. Exact fabrication, foundation, fixing or selected-system drawings follow after system verification.

05

EVIDENCE & RELEASE

Keep each evidence type attached to what it actually proves.

01

Governing rule

Defines sport or competition requirements. It does not approve a supplier or local construction detail.

02

Exact product evidence

Testing, approval, certification or manufacturer evidence must match the selected product/configuration.

03

Installed outcome

Where applicable, field/court/facility certification relates to the completed installation rather than the product alone.

04

Project engineering

Foundations, structural supports, wind/seismic, electrical and building interfaces remain project-specific.

05

Commercial release

Quantity, documentation, warranty, freight, installation boundaries, spares and handover are closed before order.

06

MAINTENANCE & HANDOVER

Specify how performance will be maintained.

01

Court cleaning

02

Crack / joint inspection

03

Drainage cleaning

04

Net tension / hardware check

05

Fence and gate check

06

Lighting clean / test

07

Acoustic treatment inspection

08

Surface recoating cycle

07

TECHNICAL RISK CHECK

Common symptoms that should trigger investigation.

01

Neighbour noise complaints

Measure source/receiver relationship; review barriers, orientation, operating hours and acoustic treatment.

02

Ponding

Check base profile, drainage outlets and low spots before resurfacing.

03

Cracks telegraph through coating

Assess slab/asphalt movement and repair method rather than simply recoating.

04

Glare at night

Review fixture aiming, shielding, mounting height and neighbouring properties.

05

Balls crossing adjacent courts

Review divider barriers, fencing and court-bank spacing.

06

Commercial congestion

Review gates, waiting areas, player circulation, seating and court-changeover flow.

08

PRIMARY GOVERNING REFERENCES

Verify final requirements at the official source.

USA Pickleball / ASBA Construction & Maintenance Manual

Official construction and maintenance reference pathway for court builders, architects and facility managers.

SUPPLY BOUNDARY

Apollo is supply-only.

Local design, foundations, civil works, installation, electrical work, statutory approvals, accessibility compliance and professional sign-off remain with the appropriate project parties unless a specific support item is expressly included. Current governing-body rules, exact selected-system data and local requirements take precedence over this planning pack.
