Heritage public realm does not need fake historic products. CIVARO Heritage is intended for contemporary infrastructure that respects scale, rhythm, material character and protected fabric while remaining practical to operate and maintain.
Record protected buildings, walls, paving, trees, views, street proportions and other character-defining elements before product selection. New infrastructure should respond to those features rather than imitate a period style without purpose.
Simple contemporary products can work well where colour, scale, spacing and material tone are controlled. Avoid unnecessary visual competition with the heritage fabric.
Fixings, foundations, service routes and drainage should avoid damaging retained materials where possible. Reversible or lower-impact installation pathways may be worth considering where the local heritage strategy requires them.
Historic context does not remove the need for accessible movement, safe routes, practical seating and modern service requirements. The local design team should resolve those obligations alongside heritage approvals.
Record product, finish, fixing approach and any agreed heritage conditions so future replacement can follow the approved intent without repeated interpretation.
