Choosing a Vulcan size is not simply a question of buying the largest grill that fits. Diameter changes the amount of usable cooking perimeter, the visual presence of the fire and the circulation space the cook and guests need around it.
The 1000 mm pathway uses a 500 mm cooking-surface width and suits smaller patios or compact family use. The 1200 mm pathway increases the cooking-surface width to 600 mm and is a balanced residential choice where entertaining capacity matters without making the grill dominate the outdoor area.
At 1500 mm diameter with a 750 mm cooking-surface width, the grill begins to operate more like a dedicated cooking station. It can suit large homes, group dining and boutique hospitality where several foods may be worked around the plate at once.
The 1700 and 2000 mm pathways use a broad 1000 mm cooking-surface width and are aimed more strongly at restaurants, resorts, functions and destination cooking. These formats need clear circulation for the cook, fuel handling, hot tools and guest movement.
A useful brief includes typical guest numbers, menu style, available footprint, nearby preparation space and how theatrical the cooking station should feel. Final model dimensions and project drawings should be confirmed before surrounding paving, benches or structures are fixed.
