Match the tent to travel rhythm
Fast-moving trips often value quick opening and pack-down. Longer base camps may benefit more from extra living space and enclosed shelter. The right answer depends on how frequently the vehicle moves.
Shelter and water change camp usability
Awnings, rooms, rear shelters, lighting and water storage can make a simple rooftop-tent setup much easier to live with. They also add weight, volume and setup steps, so each addition should solve a real travel need.
Keep the system serviceable
Pack frequently used equipment where it can be reached without unloading the entire vehicle. Leave maintenance access for racks, hinges, electrical connections and water systems, and review the setup before a long remote trip.
