A product that can be shipped internationally is not automatically an international project solution. The project becomes workable when destination conditions, freight, receiving, local works and documentation are defined alongside the product package.

Name the real destination and receiving point

Country is not enough. Record the city, island or region, preferred port or depot, final site, road access, unloading capability and whether the package needs an inter-island or remote inland transfer. These details can change packaging and freight strategy materially.

For schools, councils and clubs, identify the actual purchasing entity and local project contact as well. A clear receiving chain reduces confusion about who is responsible after the shipment reaches the agreed handover point.

Write climate and exposure into the product brief

Tropical rain, coastal salt, cyclone exposure, extreme heat, cold or snow can all change the project priorities. The product review should therefore use the destination environment as an input rather than assuming the New Zealand configuration is automatically appropriate.

Where structural, electrical or building performance is site-specific, the local project team should check the selected product information against destination requirements. Apollo can provide available product documentation but does not replace local engineering or statutory review.

Freeze the supply boundary before freight is quoted

List every supplied product, accessory, spare, document and package. Then state what is outside the Apollo scope: customs, duties, foundations, civil works, installation, electrical work, engineering, approvals, local equipment hire or inland transport unless specifically included.

Freight pricing is more reliable after the package is frozen because crate dimensions, weight, consolidation and container strategy depend on the final order rather than a generic product category.

Build a destination document register

Ask the local team which drawings, manuals, data sheets, test reports, packing information or certificates they need to review. Confirm what is actually available for the selected model rather than promising a generic certification set before the configuration is known.

Keep final documents tied to the order revision so installers and operators are not working from superseded information after the shipment arrives.

Design the handover for local success

Before dispatch, identify who receives the goods, who inspects them, who stores them, who installs them and who operates or maintains them. A short handover plan can prevent a good product package from failing because responsibilities were assumed rather than assigned. International supply is strongest when every team knows the next action before the shipment leaves.
