LPs should stand vertically with enough support that rows do not lean heavily. Large collections create meaningful furniture loads, so shelf spans, joinery and cabinet stability matter.

Separate turntable support from clutter
A turntable works best on a stable, level surface with practical access for cueing and record handling. Avoid using the same small surface for every accessory if it compromises stability or workflow.
Ventilate electronics
Closed cabinets can work only when the exact equipment has adequate airflow, service access and cable routes. Do not assume a decorative door makes heat disappear.
Plan for collection growth
A cabinet sized perfectly for today's collection can be full before the room is finished. Keep an expansion path through modular bays, adjacent shelving or a second storage zone.
